Varanasi, India:

“BEYOND” is an exclusive documentary featuring photographer Joey L. Set in Varanasi, India. The documentary by filmmaker Cale Glendening follows Joey and his assistant Ryan as they complete their latest photo series- “Holy Men.” Almost every major religion breeds ascetics; wandering monks who have renounced all earthly possessions, dedicating their lives to the pursuit of spiritual liberation.Their reality is dictated only by the mind, not material objects. Even death is not a fearsome concept, but a passing from the world of illusion. 5. ONWARD

ONWARD

Konki and his family live near Deluun Village, in the Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia, where the last six generations of his bloodline have continued the art and tradition of eagle hunting. At the age of 29, Konki has spent 21 of his years herding animals as a way to support his family. After the tragic loss of his father two years ago, Konki felt a call to his father’s passion of eagle hunting. This changed the course of his life, allowing him to connect not only with family he’s lost, but the one he still has. His cousin Onei is teaching him as they travel across the vast, sprawling tundra and majestic mountains of their homeland. He also plans to pass down what he learns to his four-year-old son, Berdibek, who has already taken an interest in the eagles. Konki's new path ensures the continuation of this tradition for both his family and the heritage of his culture. There are few things more beautiful than discovering who you were meant to be by honoring where you’ve come from. -- Producer | Director : Cale Glendening Cinematographer : Cale Glendening Editor : Cale Glendening & Chloe McLennan Color : John Carrington Titles : Olaf Blomerus Sound Recording : Max Phillips Voice Over : Odbayar Batchuluun Sound Design & Mix : Defacto Sound defactosound.com Original Score : Tony Anderson tonyandersonmusic.com Guide and Translator : Jagaa Bulgaa Explore the Great Altai LLC. 6. Blood & Oil

Blood & Oil

Blood & Oil is a short film I have wanted to shoot for some time. It speaks to all avenues of passionate endeavors and the common thread of desire, determination and relentless pursuit it takes to see them through. That feeling that wakes you in the dead of night, the call to action that courses through your veins. It doesn't matter what you do or what your passion is, there is always room to be challenged, to grow, advance and to be more inspired. With that heart and intention, Blood & Oil is about wanting to create, be more awake and to be more alive. I have been lucky enough to both work and play with truly ambitious and talented people that push me more everyday, to those people I say a very special thank you. And I thank you for watching and to those who share this film. It was a very ambitious shooting schedule, we shot 16+ set ups in 9 locations in 3 days, not including the pick up/spontaneous shoot days. A behind the scenes blog is being posted on my website, with extra photos and extra footage! "The last of the embers cool in the waking dawn as the silence echoes through the empty roads and the beat of heavy hearts stir the morning air The wasteland smiles, a grin tired and stretched too thin Built on rotting soil the city starts to crack, the foundations perish and crumble Trapped and left wanting, the weary stay hidden behind heavy doors and rusted locks The undeserving cling to chances untaken There is no escape The darkness starts to build I welcome the storm with my fists clenched, the aching seething from my bones I cannot show you. I cannot take you with me The course is already written Moving in harmony, tracers strangle out the light The consumption of every movement greedy and unsatisfied From the wreckage the oil runs Turning the blood of the fallen thick and black Quiet is the pulse of the driven Freedom is not levity, but the untold fight of the knowing A force understood only by those who possess it Dare to look up Dare to breathe To trust the hopeful and stack your spine No need to call to the willing, they are already at your side No need to call them brothers, they already share your fire The crushing allure of pure acceleration Chase it down Chase it down" Produced, Directed and Edited : Cale Glendening Prose Writer : Chloé Mclennan Cast : Art Arcinas, Jiimmy Pruitt, Josh Orr, Caleb Owens, JT Daly, Paul Moak, Patrick Ryan, Robert Longhurst, Nick Georgiou, Tori Townsend, Vijay Upadhyaya, Rachel Haag, Yve Assad, Pap Shirock, Will Fulford, Cassie Locante, Allison Rusche, Jenna Lane, Blake Williams Director of Photography : Cale Glendening Original Music : JT Daly Sound Design & Final Mix : Defacto Sound 1st AD : Will Fulford 1st AC : Andrew White Color : John Carrington Narrator : Jeffrey Buckner Ford Music “The Blackest Bird” Performed by JT Daly & The Blood Orchestra The Blood Orchestra Is : Avery Bright, Zach Casebolt, Katelyn Westergard : Violins Emily Kohavi : Viola Austin Hoke & Emily Nelson : Cello and members of RAM Audio Engineers : Justin March, Devin Vaughan, Zack Zink Mixed By : Paul Moak at The Smoakstack (Nashville, TN) Post Production Supervisor : Chloé Mclennan BTS Photography : Yve Assad, Andrew White Rentals : TVC Nashville, ELITE Multimedia Special Thanks : Blackbirds Motorcycle Assembly Austin Mann, Jordan Bellamy, Moto Moda, Barista Parlor, The Fuselage, The Fort

11. BELSTAFF X MR PORTER : ON THE ROAD

BELSTAFF X MR PORTER : ON THE ROAD

Independence Pass marks the point at which Colorado State Highway 82 crosses the Great Divide. To the east, the road snakes down towards its terminus at Route 24, just south of the historic mining town of Leadville. To the west, it's a meandering, 20-mile descent to the world-famous ski resort of Aspen. This road holds special significance for Mr Greg Buntain. "Aspen is always an exciting place to arrive, and a difficult place to leave," says the 30 year old, who lived there for six months in 2010, and makes regular visits to the area. "Crossing Independence Pass has always felt like a moment of transition. Depending on whether you're coming or going, it can feel like the end of a long journey, or it can feel like your journey is only just beginning." Mr Buntain now lives in New York, where he is one half of Brooklyn-based design duo Fort Standard, but he grew up far from the urban sprawl. He learnt how to ride on old Honda quad bikes and scramblers while he was in his teens, and admits that the decision to buy his current bike ? a 1985 Honda XL600R, essentially a street-legal dirt-bike ? was made at least partly out of nostalgia. Partly out of nostalgia, but mostly in search of adventure, Belstaff and MR PORTER took a trip to Aspen with Mr Buntain where he jumped on a BMW R850GS, opened up the throttle, and revisited some of his favourite stretches of road. Westbound & Down | Issue Fourteen

Rolling out of Portland, Oregon from this year’s One Show, we were seven strong and the only ones crazy enough to make the trip to Los Angeles on bikes. Portland – and it seems the entire Pacific Northwest – found itself in a 20-year storm that challenged the very idea of migrating south by motorcycle. But the goal was simple: to ride to warmer times, find as many grins as possible, and attempt to capture as much film as possible. Full story in Issue Fourteen of Iron & Air Magazine. 17. Demon Hunter - "Life War" Official Video

Demon Hunter -

This is a one shot music video for the band Demon Hunter. I have known Ryan Clark and DH for years now, so it is always amazing to get to see and work with the guys. Each action in the video has meaning and deals directly with the lyrics. While it's a more literal video, there is still plenty open for interpretation from viewers. The entire shoot only consisted of two takes. Nailed it on the 2nd take. And yes....the punch in the face is absolutely real. Believe me, it was very uncomfortable on set for everyone watching him get hit like that, but Ryan insisted on it happening. Going the extra mile for authenticity. 20. The Saint Johns - Your Head and Your Heart (Official Music Video)

The Saint Johns - Your Head and Your Heart (Official Music Video)

The Saint Johns approached me with this beautiful song saying they wanted a video that portrayed the ups and downs of a relationship. Emotions from opposite ends of the spectrum, all within the same scenes. That wasn't the easiest task to pull off, but luckily we had some stellar talent. "I want you guys to smile at each other, then go in for a kiss, annnnnd cut. Ok now I want you to yell at each other and then push him." Shooting strong emotions from each end of the scale, back to back, produced some funny outtakes! However, they handled each scene perfectly, and after 2 days we came out with this video. Does she take him back or is she through? ; ) First just wanted to say thank you to The Saint Johns. Jordan and Lou worked extremely close on this project. I went to Iceland twice all while trying to plan this video. They produced the hell out of this thing, helping with casting, locations, and props. AJ made my life easy and is the reason we got as much content as we did. Thank you guys for the help. Proud to have worked with such talented people. I had a very strong sense of how I was going to cut this once we were done shooting. The 1st cut was completed within 36 hours of wrapping the video shoot. Pre through post production was so smooth sailing. The best part is that Lou and Jordan both signed off on the first pass and it was off to my buddy John Carrington for some color! Win!
