Cathy and I had been bird watching at Bear Island and Donnelley for most of the day and were just about to head home. We made one last stop at the big pond on Main Road to look for ducks and were right on the verge of leaving when the most amazing thing happened. A Coopers Hawk dragged a freshly killed Common Moorhen up onto a stump in the pond less than 40 feet from us and proceeded to eat it. We watched for over an hour and took hundreds of pictures.
